James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans...

...and god blesses for it.  so scott and i sold our boat and decided to take 10% of this extra money and seed this ministry.  it was not income but simply a payback on monies we had spent and we felt compelled to use it in a way that is so close and dear to us - taking care of our "orphans" that we love so very much.  we have bought groceries several times, 2 bikes now, bus passess and other things so far.  god is so good.  so amazing. so faithful.  the exact dollar amount (an odd amount by the way) we gave for this ministry, came back to us in an unexpected check from an unexpected source  - the exact dollar amount  - thank you god!

I am Glad my Bike was Stolen...

Bennett introduced us - her dad is unknown, her mom smokes crack and "K" has been on her own since 16?  17? Now 21, she shares that her struggles are so hard, she is overwhelmed, wants her GED, has dreams of going to college, but now in her day to day survival, it seems just a dream, never to be attained.  I tell her I will help - I will pray - I will love her.

Her only transportation to work, a bicycle, was stolen.  I found a nice used bike on craigslist and got it to her in 2 days!  To God be the Glory!  Her response - I am glad my bike was stolen.  I know that God is using that so I can have good influences in my life.  I am so excited!  Thank you so much!..."K"

Next project - GED :)

Jeremiah 22:16

"He defended the cause of the needy, and so all went well.  Is that not what it means to know me declares the Lord?"

Do we REALLY know God?  Do we really walk the walk or do we just talk the talk?

planting seeds

i think about efforts of seed and soil - i watch scott plant and wait, water and wait, fertizlie and wait and get disappointed after 6 weeks because of no fruit yet.  no beans.  no tomatoes.  no peppers.  it takes time for a harvest. it takes patience.  it takes love, care and concern.  all of that is poured into the efforts.

we just planted seed money for a wonderful young lady to help offset costs in the first few weeks in a missionary journey.  a journey that will be much longer than six weeks.  a journey in which she too will be planting seeds.  seeds of jesus :):) seeds of love.  seeds of care. seeds of concern.

i pray that the seeds we plant grow and multiply.  produce new seeds and a new harvest cycle.

thank you jesus for seeds to sow
